As of 2022-06-16 Google is shutting down third party client access to
[Google Talk](https://support.google.com/talk). This has been in the works for
a long time and is expected. Unfortunately they did not provide a time nor a
time zone, so who knows exactly when it's going to be shut down...
If you would like to continue talking to your Google Contacts you'll need to
migrate to
[purple-googlechat](https://github.com/EionRobb/purple-googlechat#readme) from
Eion Robb.
